Equipped with two guitars, a vast array of effect pedals, drum machines and synth modules, ZRN has shaped a signature sound which is a delicate and tender waltz between sheer noise and beautiful, smouldering soundscapes.
On stage, they weave together solid tracks and improvisational elements, resulting in a mesmerizing, intense journey that guarantees a punch in the gut and gentle sonic bliss.
Since their formation, this duo has received critical acclaim from international blogs including features on Drowned in Sound's playlist "Some Velvet Mixtape" (2014 and 2017). Last year the duo performed at the official SXSW and SPOT Festival, and has previously performed at What's Next in Music and Tallinn Music Week.
///"ZRN make a shifting, mercurial sound that can fork off into brutal passages of noise and at other times, wrap the listener up in the most benign sonic blanket. It's music of the now but the duo definitely nod to the fearless late '60s sonic experiments cranked out at the UFO and Zodiac clubs".- Richard Foster (The Quietus, Louder than War)
///"Playing an experimental noise set this evening, Stine Beck and Christian Sindling Soendegaard’s potent mix of drones, electronic beats, and fuzz pedal infused guitar proves a laconic cocktail for those who’ve veered off the beaten track(...) It’s a dazzling sonic melange" - Dom Gourlay, Drowned in Sound
