Wolfsmoke are a female fronted alternative hard rock band.

Wolfsmoke provides MELODIC vocals with IMPACTFUL lyrics from Jo Nash. FUZZY grungy guitars from Josh Cantrill. Kieran Emmerson providing a beefy driven determined undertone. GROOVE laden METRONOMIC PRECISION drumming combined with RHYTHMIC double pedal laying down the groves that hit like THUNDER curtesy of Connal Bower.

Starting in 2019, with Josh the instigator joined by James who together auditioned for singers and decided they wanted a female singer. That came in the form of Joanne Nash.

Together they formed Wolfsmoke
We had the same trials and tribulations as anyone else did during Covid, sadly some crumbled, but with sheer determination and modern technology 😛

Writing in the background and never losing focus.

In 2020, we played our first gig and from 2021 we continue to gig regularly.

In 2022, we released three singles "Devil's Cup", "If you don't know me" and "Spite Bites Back" on all major streaming platforms.

In 2023, we released “Come With Me” that was recorded by Alex at Malice Recordings.

We gained a bassist called John Mathison (He knew how to make the sound drive)
But sadly bass has taken it toll and he had to quit 😢)

Mike (Mikey) Francis, joined the band Feb / March 2023 Mikey quickly became comfortable with the parts and us as a band. With a bass sound like an engine, he really gets the songs motoring.

Towards the end of 2023, unfortunately Mikey had to leave due to personal commitments. In December 2023 our new 4 string axeman, Scott Andrews, appeared with all the drive boxes to provide us a kick into 2024 and beyond.

In June 2024, we released “Devil’s Cup” – (Re-imagined) which was recorded by Alex at Malice Recordings.

We have single called “DeadSpace” in the works with Johnny at Hybrid 3 in Sheffield that was released on 1st January 2025.

July 2024 came and sadly our long standing drummer James Banks had to leave due to external commitments.

From mid-2024, Tara Armstrong a self-trained drummer, able to play anything from indie/ rock to metal completed the Wolfsmoke quartet.

Mid 2025, our bass player Scott Andrews left to join Sabbat Wolf and our drummer Tara Armstrong also decided to move on.

Matt Dillerstone joined Wolfsmoke in June 2025 as our drummer and his skills are showcased by his ability to learn a set for Barnsley Live 2025 in less than two weeks. However unfortunately Matt was no longer able to continue due to personal reasons.

Both Steven Kennell and Kirean Emmerson joined in July 2025 on drums and bass. After a short stint with Wolfsmoke Steve left for new adventures.

Connal Bower joined Wolfsmoke in November 2025. He is incredibly experienced and is providing new ideas behind the kit to enhance the Wolfsmoke tunes.

We are currently crafting new songs and tones.
