Strings and Mouth.
Hailing from the North East of England, electronic two-piece What We Call Progress have been described as a "perfect balance of mechanical electronic sounds, flickering beats, electric guitars and accessible vocals" - NARC Magazine (July 2014).
Recent single, Pack of Cards (March 2015), was "a sepulchral slice of glitch pop... It's excellent" - The Crack (April 2015).
Their live performances have marked them out as ones to watch, as a recent live review demonstrates: "With a clutch of impressive and well-crafted songs under their belt... it wouldn’t be surprising if the pair were one of the bands to break through at this year’s Evo Emerging festival." (Eugenie Johnson, NARC Online, April 2015).
The band were one of 40 artists selected to play the "North East's biggest event for emerging music", Evolution Emerging 2015, out of 400 applicants. They have bagged a coveted headline slot at one of the festival's nine venues.
