Their passionate cry for world music environment, lyricism and virtuosity, from Bach to flamenco and Celtic and African, the two old partners now bring a special set of pieces composed and arranged for harmonica and 7 strings guitar.
Vitor Lopes & Emiliano Castro have an musical approach that unites the elegance and concentration of chamber music with the joy, swing and improvisation reminiscent from Brazilian ‘rodas de choro’.
After working a vast repertoire of ‘Choros’ and Brazilian composers like Heitor Villa-Lobos, Paulo Moura and Cesar Camargo Mariano, the duo now presents a new original repertoire with themes composed by the duo, in addition to two pieces commissioned to their old musical partners and friends Chico Saraiva and Alessandro Penezzi.
Their new CD is going to be released by ÁguaForte label (www.aguaforte.org) in the first quarter of 2015.
