Undercover Brothers Ug is a Ugandan based singing duo composed of Jay.K.Mulungi and Kirya Timothy.

In the year 2013, the duo started off its musical journey after Coca-Cola rated next season one a singing competition where they met at the nationals in the capital Kampala Uganda. They were both evicted out of the competition at the final stage. After their eviction from the competition, they were both asked to join a boy band formed by some of the boys who had also been evicted. The boy band was called Ancient and some of the members included J-Ssali, Aguma Isaac, Waswa, Jay.K.Mulungi, Kirya Timothy Paul Kenrich. Ancient performed in different areas in and out of Kampala and some of the places where they performed include Tilapia, Grace land hotel and jinja casino but the band collapsed shortly after starting by April.2013 due to the difference in all the members’ goals in music and ambitions. In May.2013, three of the former members of Ancient Jay.K.Mulungi, Kirya Timothy and J-Ssali were invited to join another boy accapella band called Sekalio Vocal Band. The band was doing old school accapella music and the three guys Jay.K.Mulungi, Kirya Timothy and J-Ssali did not like the whole accapella idea as a result the trio decided to create a small group under the big band Sekalio Vocal Band where they could do the music they wanted without the knowledge of the rest of the members of the group and since the group was like a secret they named it Undercover but Undercover sounded incomplete and decided to add Brothers since they were all boys hence UNDERCOVER BROTHERS was born. The trio performed cover songs in different hangout places like Little Donkey, Zone 7, and Boda Boda etc. In August.2013, One of the members J-Ssali decided to quit the group leaving Jay.K.Mulungi and Kirya Timothy becoming a duo. This was very hard for the duo because of the history they all had together but because these two guys were very focused and determined, they kept working hard performing on different events as well as starting writing their own songs
In September.2013, Tusker Project Fame season six auditions had kicked off in all the participating countries in east Africa and this time around, they allowed groups to audition. These two guys decided to go and audition this time around as a duo [Undercover Brothers Ug], where the judges were making the selection for contestants who would represent Uganda in the academy. After a series of auditions and different levels of screening, the duo Undercover Brothers managed to convince all the Judges due to their excellent performance in all the auditions that they were the best group to represent Uganda in Tusker Project Fame season six academy in Nairobi, Kenya. In the academy the duo alongside all other contestants were given physical, moral, vocal lessons which helped the duo to grow musically. After the duo’s success in the competition even though they did not win, their participation gave them a lot of fame all over east Africa which created a big music platform.
On 11.12.2013, three days after Tusker Project season six had ended, the Undercover Brothers officially released their first single ‘’Omwagala Kilalu’’ and this was their official kick off in the music industry. The duo featured most of the best bands in Uganda on stage like Jeckaki, Milege, Matooke Roots Fusion, Urban accent, Bero, S and S, Janzi and many more others. Since January 2014, the Undercover Brothers have featured on several music festivals which include Pearl Rhythm, Bayimba International Festival Laba arts Festival, World Music day festival, Kampala City Festival and many more music associated projects. Since December 2013 the Undercover Brothers have worked on several music projects including collabos with artistes like J-Ssali, Wake, Enoch and Young Zee. On 13th December 2014 Undercover Brothers held their first concert named ‘’Unveiling Undercover Brothers’’ which was a very successful and sold out concert. At the Concert, the duo released its first album dubbed AT DAWN. Songs done by the Undercover Brothers include Nsikatila, Munyenye, Omwagala Kilalu, Mama, Diamond, Nabirye, Ani, Ntawa, Remember, Twayogela etc.
