The Womb | Album | 2015 | |
the Womb | Album | 2015 |
First they created a nursery that could grow along with the ideas and the songs, which they decided to aptly name ‘the Womb’. Only after years of molding their sound, inventively building a humble, but good sounding recording studio in the old ballet classroom of an abandoned school building in The Hague, their debut was ready to go out into the world.
Melodic bass lines, flowing grooving drums, dreamy chord progressions, layers of super electric colored synthesizers and scorching fuzz guitars, with 'out there' rhythmically hypnotizing words and melodies on top.
In their psychedelic sounds you hear the obvious unavoidable influence of 60's and 70's psych-classics, but by taking in all kinds of different influences, from all times, they transcend the music of the Womb into something more. An epically diverse mix of styles, bound together seamlessly by their common prefix: psychedelic. Going from psychedelic fuzz rock, to dreamy psych-pop within the same song, and from a minimalistic velvet underground inspired psychedelic orgasm, to 80's keyboard sounds combined with bit crushed wild live drums.
The Womb delivers an authentic, playfully abstract, spaced out new sound into the neo-psychedelic babyboom. A florid kaleidoscopic record and an intense live experience for the whole family.
