THE ROOP is one of the most popular bands in Lithuania, which has won many awards in its country.

With the song On Fire, the group was the audience's favorite and won 1st place in the alternative Eurovision Song Contest 2020 organized in Germany, watched by an audience of over 5 million and broadcasted by one of the largest German broadcasters - NDR. This contest was held after the world was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Eurovision 2020 contest in Rotterdam was canceled. At that time, the band had signed a publishing contract with the German division of Universal Music. Later in 2021, THE ROOP signed a contract with the Finnish division of Warner Music. The album "Concrete Flower" was released with this publishing company, which also includes the song Discoteque. With this song, THE ROOP participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, which was watched by 183 million people around the world on TV and won 8th place in the grand final. On Spotify and YouTube song have over 38 million views. And although the years 2020 and 2021 were very successful for the band - the biggest challenge was the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic, which disrupted concerts and tours.

The band is currently recording a new album and plans to release it in June 2024. For the creation of the new album, the guys chose Sicily - an island of amazing beauty in Italy. Staying in an authentic mansion among the mountains - they spent almost two weeks writing new songs, which were also inspired by the peak of Etna - the largest active volcano in Europe. It is worth waiting for an explosion of creativity that THE ROOP will reveal.

THE ROOP certainly take their work seriously. This fresh-sounding pop / dance - pop band was formed in Vilnius, Lithuania in 2014 by singer Vaidotas Valiukevičius, drummer Robertas Baranauskas, and guitarist Mantas Banišauskas. With different performing experiences the group began writing music that appealed to their tastes, their beliefs, and creating music videos that would send important messages to the world.

THE ROOP band name comes from an archaic English word "to roop" meaning "to cry out", "to shout out", "make a great noise". THE ROOP works touch on social topics by invoking music, images and other mediums.

LIVE

THE ROOP concerts are a mix of energy and feel. Listeners never remain indifferent and bravely get immersed into the musical storytelling of the band. Live shows are lively, honest and have strong connections with the audience.

THE ROOP appeared in all of the largest Lithuania's music festivals, such as Granatos Live, Karklė, and Galapagai, as well as the biggest festivals in the Baltic States – Positivus (LV), Summer Sound (LV), Bauska TASTE (LV), Intsikurmu (EE). THE ROOP also toured in Germany, Spain, Italy, UK, Poland and the USA.

ALBUMS

THE ROOP spent almost four years in the studio looking for that perfect sound – writing 50 songs in the process before finally deciding on 10 good enough for their debut album “To Whom It May Concern”, released in 2015. An extra touch was added by Australian Leon Zervos – top mastering engineer from Studios 301 (Sydney) who has worked with INXS, Aerosmith, Muse, Coldplay and many other music's biggest names.

The second album “Ghosts” came out in 2017. Some singles became very popular: the dreamy “Dream On”, open and intimate “Keista Draugystė” and “Hello” – most famous for its bold video picturing real people and their life stories.

Third record – EP “Yes, I Do” – was released in 2018. It was called after a song the band wrote for the Eurovision Lithuania National Selection where they stood out and won the public's heart. The EP consists of 5 solid songs, among which are “Yes, I Do” and a duet featuring singer Migloko – “UFO”.

“Concrete Flower" - released May 11, 2022 - contains solemn "Let's Get Naked", hits "On Fire", "Discoteque", "Love Is All We Got", and fresh unheard songs.

Music with a message, delivered with the right set of skills and ambition. What else could we ask for?
