Pirate Studios, Sound City Festival Liverpool 2017 – “Hands down one of the best performances The Pirate Stage has ever seen.

The Dead Heavys performing live from Sound City 2017.”

THE DEAD HEAVYS are going from strength to strength. 2017 has been an exciting year for the band as their music hit the airwaves with Lazarus on TV and Radio as part of an Irish nationwide supermarket chain’s ad campaign, Supervalu. This brought The Dead Heavys’ music into every household in Ireland.

To date, highlights of an impressive track record gigging have included a capacity show at The Village; a storming Sunday night set at Electric Picnic 2016, an international debut at Croatia’s INmusic Festival alongside Arctic Monkeys & Basement Jaxx and a very impressive performance at SoundCity Festival, Liverpool.

The band’s independently- released debut single Everybody In The Nite was produced by Jagz Kooner. It hit the Irish top fifty and was met with much acclaim by those in the know, among them John Robb (The Guardian/LTW) who noted them as a band that ‘could easily grab the attention of a stadium full of fans or the charts’, XFM’s Eddy Temple Morris, The Enemy’s Tom Clarke, and Jon McClure from Reverend & the Makers.

Two further single releases with The New Age of Innocence and Uptight, were both played in heavy rotation, and the first Irish Dead Heavys tour was underway with shows in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Waterford.

The single, Liquidator, featuring vocalist Aisling Browne of Solar Taxi and Cut Once, has been licensed to season 7 of Shameless USA. It was played on heavy rotation in Ireland. The accompanying video was hosted across the UK and Ireland from top music sites and blogs. It also spent two weeks on Reverbnation’s global homepage after topping the national indie charts. The band also landed in the top 3 from 800 Guinness amplify acts selected by the Deputy editor at Hot-press Stuart Clark.

The syncs don’t stop with Supervalu and Shameless US though as two more were got this year with US TV show The Real O’Neals making a grab for Everybody in the Nite and this same track getting a feature in a trailer for the critically acclaimed Irish movie Handsome Devil at this year’s International Film Festival. This once again brought The Dead Heavys’ music into the public arena via TV, radio and the big scree
