In the summer of 2011, after singing at a mutual friend’s wedding in Chester, Sophie met Simon Jones of the Verve. By the next week she was skipping school to record over 14 demos of her original songs in his studio and Simon remains a sort-of music guardian to her.
Sophie immediately captured the attention of local radio station BBC Lancashire through the BBC Introducing Uploader and has received airplay by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 and various presenters on Amazing Radio. The young songstress is a regular on the north-west gigging circuit and at the end of last year, Sophie ventured down south to play her first gigs in the capital.
