They released their debut L.P "Continental Girl" the following year. It was described as a "great showcase for their ecletic talents" by NARC Magazine in a three-star review. After performing regularly in the region, they released a follow-up single "Hot Love" in November 2014. This received repeated BBC Introducing airplay and was NARC Magazine's Single of the Month that month.
2015 saw Simon & The Sundowners perform at the VAMOS & Mouth of the Tyne Festivals while working on a new E.P, "New York City Girl". Released in December this E.P featured four new tracks of retro jazz and continental funk. The Crack Magazine declared in their review, "they are on stupendous form here" and it has again received regular BBC Introducing airplay. Simon Taylor & The Sundowners begin 2016 with a headline gig at Newcastle's O2 Academy on 18th February.
