Being heavily informed by a variety of musical genres including grime, hip hop, garage and jazz, he channels these influences in combination with thought-provoking and witty lyricism to create his sound. Songs have the ability to paint a picture of an entirely new world in someone's mind, and that is what sparked his passion for both music and storytelling.
While refining his sound, Shogun Shato has been very active in London’s live music scene. Frequently featuring on stage at some of London’s biggest jams including Ori Jam and the Five Points Project, Shogun Shato has also been building a name for himself as one of the UK’s best up and coming hosts. Working closely with organisations such as What Does Not, Tracks on Tap and RAY Records, he has cemented himself as someone who belongs on the stage.
After success in the early years of his career, including featuring on BBC Introducing and SBTV, Shogun Shato is looking to build what he hopes can be a community of people that care about ‘music with a message’. After recently receiving funding from Youth Music, it seems as though Shogun Shato is poised to make some noise this year and you won't want to miss a second of it!
