As friends, Jack Cowap and James Deacon have been playing music together since they were kids, and formed a longstanding friendship, based on a mutual passion for songwriting and performance.

After trying out a number of different bands and line ups, something always seemed to be missing… Until now.

Jack and James, combine their keen ear for melody and knack for huge harmonies with a wide range of musical influences to create snappy, genre-bending tunes: ranging from gritty to outright anthemic.

2017 has been an exciting year for the indie-pop duo who have released 11 singles since their debut track 'Do What' came out in January. Since then, you may have heard their music on ITV's This Morning who featured their track 'Rollercoaster' alongside a VT of clothes chosen by well-renowned fashion expert, Gok Wan.

Rylands Heath finished the summer strongly having their song 'Best Friend' played on the BBC Introducing Beds, Herts and Bucks show hosted by Gareth Lloyd.

Rylands Heath songs have also twice been picked up by Spotify tastemakers who have added their tracks 'Best Friend' and 'Skin' to the popular 'Fresh Finds: Six Strings' playlist with over 25,000 followers.

However, it was their second release 'West Coast' that caught the attention of Best of British Unsigned radio station who nominated it for Best Song at their annual Unsigned Music Awards.

Aside from releasing music, the duo have a strong attachment to their hometown of Luton, with the band's name originating from a road the boys used to drive past on their way to rehearsals. Rylands Heath have had strong support from their hometown, including regular plays at Luton Town FC on match days. It doesn't end there as the boys have also played a couple of gigs in the area including a unique acoustic set in the towns biggest shopping centre, The Mall. Most recently, they supported indie-pop band, Marsicans at Edge.

This October saw the duo release their final track of year, Stop The Rain.

'The brilliant simplicity of their brand of alt-pop makes Stop The Rain an accessible song that just worms its way in and nests in your ear. Honestly, you will catch yourself involuntarily bobbing your head and singing along with the chorus.' - Lemonade Magazine

'Their new track Stop The Rain continues their streak of singles (this is their eleventh this year!) with a sense of effortless greatness.' - Born Music Online
