Palace Motion were first brought together through a shared passion for indie rock music.

Forming in 2013 in a small derelict shed on the outskirts of Clitheroe, Lancashire, the then 3-piece band developed their passion for music by creating, writing and recording catchy hooks and meaningful, down to earth lyrics. Typically based on their shared experiences; sharp, graphic, observational lyrics depict their view on life - expressed in an energetic, up-tempo sound.

Fast forward to 2016, the band increased their live performances, with regular gigs around the North West and things really began to take off. September saw the release of a demo single ‘65’, which was well received and established an ever increasing following. A session at ‘BBC Radio Lancashire Introducing’ soon followed.

In 2017, the band transitioned into a 4-piece, recording and releasing the eponymous ‘Palace Motion’ 4-track EP. It was launched at a 200+ capacity sell out, home town gig.

2017 has seen the band continue to develop further; increasing their following and gaining wider acclaim. March, saw them winning Manchester Northern Quarter's "Battle of the Bands", held at The Whisky Jar Club. A resoundingly positive review of the EP by Flick of the Finger followed in June. Writing about their lead single 65; “This song will be the one of the top songs, if not the song that gets them noticed. From the energetic rhythm guitar to the clever lead, Palace Motion really nailed it with this one. A well structured track, with a really catchy chorus that could really get the crowds going…Remember the name, I have a feeling it won’t be the last you hear of this band.”
Two of the songs (65 & Different atmosphere) have featured on BBC Introducing (July & Aug - including an on air interview). 65 also featured on the Best of British playlist in July. We will also feature on the Unsigned Guide’s band spotlight for September.
