He is a Contemporary African Jazz Saxophonist. His music is urban modern and funky. His performance style is energetic and engaging.
Moreira is Mozambican born but resides in Cape Town and Maputo.
He graduated from UCT College of Music (cum laude)
He has won 3 South African Music Awards and was nominated 8 times:
• 2007 – Best Producer for Vol 1 – The Journey (nominated also for Best Contemporary Jazz and Best Instrumental)
• 2009 – Best Contemporary Jazz Album and Best Album Packaging: Vol 2 – Citizen of the World (nominated also for Best Producer)
• 2012 – Khanimambo was nominated for Best African Adult Album and Best Engineer
He has performed at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival as a special guest in 2007 – Omar Sosa; 2008 – Najee; 2009 – 340ml & 2010 - Allou April.
He is the producer of MOREJAZZ SERIES – a concert series that began in 2012. The events has artists like Najee, Manu Dibango, Jonathan Butler, Hugh Masekela and Angelique Kidjo.
