In 2011 Momend won several local new band competitions and recorded their debut album Episodes of Trust, released in 2012 under Latvian independent label I Love You Records.

After a few line-up changes Momend now are Kārlis Strūbergs, Normans Bārbals, Elvijs Pārpucis (guitar), Jurģis Priedītis (bass). During the last years the band has toured extensively, performing in all the biggest festivals in Latvia, and also in Lithuania and Estonia, including a showcase at Tallinn Music Week 2014. The band has also toured Sweden, as an opening act for the well-known Swedish artist Jens Lekman. Momend has also shared stage with Estonian bands Ewert and The Two Dragons and Sibyl Vane, and the British band Sons of Noel and Adrian.

The band’s new album Spirals marks a transition from their debut album towards rockier sound and more complicated song structures.
