Mirla Riomar is a singer and composer (and also percussionist and dancer) born in Salvador de Bahia who transmits in her music the ancestry and social roots of a Brazil that has merged different cultures throughout its history .

Being a descendant of Africans and indigenous people, Mirla represents the roots of her country in a personal and authentic way. Her unique style is the result of the fusion of Bahian rhythmic roots with touches of jazz and soul. Her songs tell her story as a black woman of African descent, wrapped in a range of rhythms that highlight the cultural richness of her land. In addition to delighting the audience with her powerful and characteristic voice, Mirla proposes a dynamic and visual show also using dance as a form of expression.

In a versatile way, she adapts the format that accompanies her on stage (according to the type of event), and offers both intimate duo concerts, as well as festive performances in front of a powerful band that reaffirms every word.

I've recently released my album Afrobrasileira, exploring the traditional rhythms of the african diaspora from my homeland, Bahia with touches of jazz & soul with special guests such as maestro Letieres Leite, Gabriel Grossi, Childo Tomas, Ivan Sacerdote & Jurandir Santana among others. The album has achieved recognition by the music press ( 4 Stars by Songlines, 2nd best world music album of March (Spin the Globe), featured on the April Transglobal Music World Chart , and It has been played in many world music radio shows, like Mundofonías, Agualusa (rtve), Folkmusiken i P2 (Sveriges Radio Sweden), Republik Kalakuta (RTS), etc.

During her career she has performed in festivals among which EXIB Music 2023, TenSamba, Esperanzah, Suoni Mobili, Día de Brasil, Jazzing Festival, Pedralbes Festival,Las Palmas Summer Groove, Five Lamps Dublin Arts Festival, Tanger Jazzin Festival and shared the stage with some renowned musicians such as Yamandu Costa, Andrea Motis, Margareth Menezes among others. She has also performed in the Brazilian Embassy of Spain for the commemoration of the 200th Independence of Brazil.

In 2022 she released her first album, AFROBRASILEIRA. With special guests such as maestro Letieres Leite, Gabriel Grossi, Childo Tomas, Ivan Sacerdote & Jurandir Santana among others, the album has achieved recognition by the music press ( 4 Stars by Songlines, 2nd best world music album of March (Spin the Globe), featured on the April Transglobal Music World Chart , and It has been played in many world music radio shows, like Mundofonías, Agualusa (rtve), Folkmusiken i P2 (Sveriges Radio Sweden), Republik Kalakuta (RTS), etc.
