Born on the east coast into a musical family, Melisa Kelly started singing from a young age.

At the beginning of 2010, Melisa starting gigging in and around Ayrshire professionally, playing at some of the top venues in Scotland with her previous backing band 'The Harmless Thieves', including; The Gaiety theatre, O2 ABC and O2 Academy. Also supporting some top acts; Alabama 3, The View and Big Boy Bloater. Following her sponsorship by Bailey Guitars, Melisa travelled to London to meet and learn from Dr Richard Niles, producer and writer for James Brown, Ray Charles, Gloria Gaynor and Grace Jones. After the release of her live album, recorded at Polmont Young Offenders Institute, Melisa Kelly moved to Glasgow to study music at The Academy of Music and Sound. She is currently gigging with her new band 'The Smokin' Crows', and recently released a new EP of blues inspired music called 'Some Kind of Voodoo'.
