Su nombre, con intención de reflejar el poder y sabor a rock sureño de esta banda, proviene del Texano “Río de los Brazos de Dios ” mencionado en la canción “Broke down on the Brazos”, del grupo Gov’t Mule.

La banda reúne al poderoso vocalista y virtuoso guitarrista Guillermo Gutiérrez, “William”, y a dos viejos amigos con mucha música a sus espaldas: Alberto Chamorro, “Koki”, a la batería y José Miguel Gándara “Txemi”, al bajo, haciendo un impecable trabajo en una sección rítmica única.

Los Brazos nacieron en 2011 coincidiendo casualmente en el Café La Zona, local que regentaba William y donde solía tocar todos los jueves. Pronto los tres empezaron un proyecto musical que despegó como un cohete. En 2012 publicaron su primer álbum “Delay, 10 Classic Tracks”, un tributo a sus influencias de rock y blues clásico que les permitió aparecer en festivales de blues y empezar rodar sin parar por toda la “piel del toro”, llegar a las radios locales, blogs, magazines… y hasta Estados Unidos, en un breve Tour en el que visitaron los estados de Indiana, Illinos, Michigan y Wisconsin.

La banda aprovechó este viaje para presentar allí su segundo álbum, “Welcome to Los Brazos” (2013), que contaba con 9 canciones originales de la banda y que les empujó un paso más arriba entre la crítica y medios, colocándose entre lo mejor de 2013 -y hasta 2o14- según distintas publicaciones, como la conocida Mondo Sonoro. El nuevo álbum de Los Brazos crecía sin parar y les ha ido proporcionando buena fama a ambos lados de charco, permitiéndoles seguir en la carretera visitando nuevas ciudades, y a la vez empezar a llegar a los medios nacionales y extranjeros.

En 2015, y sin parar un frenético ritmo de conciertos, la banda se tomó un breve respiro para anunciar la presentación de su tercer álbum, GAS, 9 nuevas canciones que la banda lanza justo después de firmar con el Sello Rock Estatal Records, que por vez primera y única vez contrataba con una banda angloparlante.

Era la primera vez que el grupo estaba en las tiendas, y en menos de una semana se colocaba en el número dos en ventas en Fnac. Una breve pero enorme sorpresa para una banda de rock que trasciende el público “rockero” para aparecer en medios generales y de otros estilos musicales. GAS está sonando en todas las radios nacionales y locales, apareciendo en todos los magazines, blogs, revistas y periódicos; cada vez en más radios extranjeras y medios de comunicación de toda índole quieren entrevistar a la banda, que llega a atender 34 entrevistas en 48 horas y semanas después aún sigue recibiendo un aluvión de solicitudes.

Mientras aún GAS está presentándose y sigue recibiendo excelentes críticas en todos los medios, Los Brazos anuncian el lanzamiento de Magic, una canción con videoclip realizados para recaudar fondos para el estudio del Cáncer del Desarrollo, que afecta a niños y jóvenes en edad de crecimiento.

La banda propone así una original forma de recaudar fondos, no sólamente por medio de las ventas de la canción, sino por la mera escucha y streaming, así como la aparición en medios de comunicación, conciertos… el cielo es el límite, y cualquier generador de “royalties” servirá para recaudar fondos: cuanto más se comparta y se vea el vídeo, más generará cada visita.

Un pequeño y proyecto empezado por tres amigos muy amigables, que va creciendo cada día.

From the outskirts of Bilbao, this power trio emerges with a rocking unusual force that only those who have been playing rock music since early teenage hood can exhibit. Its name takes after Gov’t Mule’s famous song ‘Broke down on the Brazos’ with the purpose to capture the flavor of southern rock. The band gathers a powerful vocalist and virtous guitar player (Guillermo Gutierrez “William”) propelled by two old friends with more than 11 albums behind: José Miguel “Txemi” Gándara at the bass guitar, and Alberto “Koki” Chamorro, at the drums, do an impeccable job on the rhythm section in which every beat finds its place.

Los Brazos have pleasantly been surprising American college students doing their study abroad stay in Bilbao, where they did not expect to find a band that could render classic rock (especially American rock) in such a genuine way. Indeed, Los Brazos’ live performances are something to write home about. Even though they have played in a number of well-known rock clubs and open shows for big bands in Spain, it is on the wooden stages of rock bars where they feel like home. They can throw gigs like an American band and play three shows in one weekend since gigging comes as second nature to them.

Los Brazos were born in 2011 from a series of jam sessions in which its members met coincidentally. They soon came up with a musical project which took off like a rocket. The concept behind was to show the audiences where they come from and where they want to go with their music. Hence, they released their first album “Delay, 10 Classic Tracks” in December 2012. The CD is a tribute of 10 covers to their classic influences in blues and rock music that range from “Big Joe” Williams to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. This record led them to tour unstoppably all over their country, reach to the local and then national radios, blogs, magazines and then to the US, in a brief tour that took them to some of the best venues in Chicago, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.

During that brief tour, the band released “Welcome to Los Brazos” featuring 9 of their original songs, that raised the band to higher grounds, receiving an outstanding feedback everywhere, and taken them to new venues, new cities and new countries.

As they kept touring, in august 2015, the band did a short break to announce the release in September of their third album, GAS, after signing the spanish label Rock Estatal Records.

It was the first time a band’s album was in stores, and in less than a week it was number two in sales. A brief but huge surprise for a rock and roll band, no doubt. The album is sounding in all the main and little radio stations all over the country and has taken the trio way higher.

While GAS is still sounding, the band still keeps an ace and has prepared “Magic”, a song and video made to raise funds for the Research for the Germinal Cancer, affecting youth and children.

The band proposes an innovative way to raise funds: not only by the sales of the song in the internet will, but also by the streaming of the video and the song in the official channels, TV, radios… any royalty generator will be used to rise funds. The sky is the limit, and the more you listen to the song or see the video, the bigger the input.
