The three members Sven Int-Veen, Lukas Stein and Nikolas Becker met whilst playing in different metal and hardcore punk outfits, often sharing stages and in 2016 eventually decided to form a new group that would cater to their less aggressive musical tastes.

The band draws influences from different niches of rock music with bands like “Nirvana”, “Radiohead”, “Placebo”, “Brand New” and “Sigur Ros” leaving obvious traces on Liotta Seoul’s sound. Other, more subtly noticeable influences include “Godspeed You! Black Emperor”, “Yes”, “The Dillinger Escape Plan.”, “My Bloody Valentine” and “Björk”.

Eager to create a sound to call their own, the band did not simply copy those icons but went on to sort out and intertwine nuances of those different soundscapes in order to create blueprints for their very own musical utterances.
Their self-produced, self-titled album perfectly depicts this serendipitous process, confronting listeners with ambiguous collages of energetic rock music, a hauntingly triste atmosphere, bleak vulnerability, viciously pulsating synthesizers and memorable hooks. The lyrics written by Canadian native Sven Int-Veen paint pictures of adolescent angst, sustaining pessimism, self-criticism and a silent adorations of nihilism. Due to the band’s adventurous approach to songwriting their debut album features a broad palette of songs that can and will appeal to different listeners without abandoning the essence of what they have ultimately made their own.
