Playing With The Gun | Album | 2010 |
Initially only playing acoustic guitar she teamed up with then 'IAMX' drummer Tom Marsh and 'The Strokes' producer Gordon Raphael in 2010.
3 months later her debut 'Playing With The Gun' was recorded.
In just a few days the three created an atmospheric and dark record which stands out due to its honesty, rawness and directness.
The very personal songs, some of which feel as if you're almost reading a diary, are carried with only vocal, guitar and drums.
A haunting debut, reminiscent of P.J Harvey.
A small tour through Germany followed and various support gigs for Keith Mina Caputo, Tim Robbins, Uh Huh Her, Emily Wells, Jim Kroft, Myriad Creatures and last but not least, following the path of Johnny Cash, a one-off show to a crowd of prisoners at a Berlin jail.
Live she is like her record, dark, mystical and intense.
Currently Lea Johnson is working on her second record.
