Kermes is an eight-legged pop monster from Leicester; we’ve been described as “theatrical”, “captivating”, “sparkling”, and “from Leicester”.

We are a melodramatic DIY trashgaze screampop band, with chips on several shoulders and quite a lot to prove. Imagine Pixies having a fight with Talking Heads and you're in the ballpark. The songs are about gender dysphoria and shitheads and wanting to die. All other bands are boring in comparison. Come to a show and sweat it out with us.

NICE QUOTES:

"Every song is put together purposefully and with care, knowing exactly what it wants to do... Kermes are a band longing to please, to be treasured"
- Hooting and Howling Magazine

“A theatrical and accomplished performance. The crowd love them”
- Leicester Mercury

"Unforgettable performances and a keen eye for when it's appropriate to douse pop melodies in petrol and set them on fire"
- Great Central Magazine

“Sparkling, invigorating, powerful. Not a band you would forget quickly”
- Music In Leicester Magazine
