First releasing music as MMCHNE, the confessed introvert's exemplary experimental energy defies his personality.

With a psychedelic rap flow, KABOCHI’s music is an assault to the senses, betraying his multitude of talents - visual artist, producer, performer, director and a myriad of others. An alumnus of the music incubator program perFORM (2019 -2020) funded by Goethe Institute and organised by Muthoni Drummer Queen and the Blankets and Wine team, KABOCHI, has proceeded to elevate his skills even further.

Bred in the Eastlands of Nairobi, the Kenyan born 26yr old approach to creating music is his calling card. Raised in a modest environment but with uncommon exposure, KABOCHI’s musical duality has allowed him to have a rare perspective of both sides, enabling him to deliver content that is relatable and well crafted. While he remains proud and emboldened by his African heritage, KABOCHI has broken free and let’s his music and art be a reflection of his view of the world beyond those borders. Connected to the world, KABOCHI 's music is a violent fusion of punk, rap, electronic and soul. Deriving his influences from bands like Blur, The Clash, and Prince, Golden Age hip-hop from Beastie Boys, Run DMC to the modern-day N.E.R.D and M.I.A.

KABOCHI found his passion for music while still in primary school when he would weave his bars in with well-known tracks that he would find online. It was only till 2015 that he pushed himself beyond his limits and started to produce his own music in search of his authentic sound. Today, KABOCHI has charted his way through the noise to emerge as a voice of the multitudes. KABOCHI has rubbed shoulders with some of the greats in different industries in Kenya from Lupita Nyongo, Sauti Sol, Third Hand Music, Awilo Logomba and Muthoni Drummer Queen to name a few.

Away from his extensive discography, KABOCHI challenged himself to a weekly single release for six months, which he dubbed "Absorbed Wednesdays" as a way of self-expression and self-provocation. This was an indulgence he enjoyed with his online audience by drawing them closer and pulling others in. The music featured in this period and his EP's has preached the message of self-acceptance, praised those who find themselves moving against the tide and embracing their weird. KABOCHI's music also preaches against bullying and finding self-worth and value in what sets you apart. Curiously, KABOCHI dons a wig in public. This, he says, is an ode to his alternative art form and exuberant personality as a way of saying that it is okay to be different and that there is a comfort to be found there still.

He is currently working on his latest project Hwen You Stare At The Mirror Long Enouf (2020).
