He has released six albums, originally as a solo artist and now as the leader of The Johnny Parry Chamber Orchestra. In 2012 he formed the Bedford Arts Choir.
Johnny Parry’s musical output began in Toronto in 2002 with the album ‘Break your little heart’. Johnny wandered the streets and clubs until he found a collection of underground musicians to perform on the record. Upon returning to the UK he joined up with Ben Milway (Drums) and Dave Lynch (Bass), and also started collaborating with artist Andy Holden. This partnership has lead to performances at Covent Garden Odeon Cinema (2009), TATE Britain (2010), Kettles Yard, Cambridge (2011), Hospitalfields, Arbroath, Scotland (2013). Holden also makes short films which are used as the backdrop of Parry’s performances.
From a background of alternative pop music Parry’s output started to evolve.
Although self taught his love of the expressiveness of classical orchestration drove him to developed a unique skill set. Retaining the raw and personal quality of alternative pop, Parry’s sound has kept expanding in sonically.
In 2009 The Johnny Parry Chamber Orchestra was formed to record More Love and Death (2009), and it’s sister album, Fields and Birds and Things (2012). Their debut concert in this new monkier was at the Union Chapel in 2009 followed by a performance at Concertbreaaiucasdjvhg, Brugge alongside The Mycheal Nyman Band and Talving Sing. The ensemble have continued to perform concerts in the UK and northern Europe.
Armed complete with strings, brass woodwind and opera singers. He continues to work in an unusual no-mans-land between song-writer and composer.
Parry formed the Bedford Arts Choir as part of his commission from Bedford Creative Arts. The resulting composition, An Anthology Of All Things, was premiered at Bedford Corn Exchange on September 27th 2012. The recording of this work will have its international release in 2017 to coincide with a symphonic performance of the piece with two choirs, one British one German. Taking place in Bremen, Feb 2017.
He is a founding member of Bedford based art movement MI!MS (Maximum Irony Maximum Sincerity) and set up the music collective Lost Toys Records.

Seine sehr originellen Kompositionen werden von seinem ständig wachsenden Ensemble performt. Zuerst als Solo – Künstler unterwegs, danach als The Johnny Parry Trio und letztendlich als Johnny Parry Chamber Orchestra, ein einzigartiges Ensemble bestehend aus über 30 Musikern. Ausgestattet mit zahlreichen Streichinstrumenten, Holzblasinstrumenten sowie Opernsängern wurden fünf Studio Alben aufgenommen. Ihr neustes Album „Fields & Birds & Things“ ist voll von Überraschungen und behandelt die großen Attitüden der Liebe und des Todes. Darüber hinaus ist es eine Personifikation von der ungenierten Hingabe zur Romantik und dem Ungewöhnlichen.

Johnny Parry’s musikalische Produktion begann 2002 in Toronto mit dem Album „Break your little heart“. Johnny zog durch etliche Straßen und Clubs bis er eine Reihe von Underground – Musikern fand, die auf dem Album mitwirkten. Als er wieder nach England zurückkehrte, lernte er Ben Milway (Drums) und Dave Lynch (Bass) kennen. Außerdem startete er eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Künstler Andy Holden um maßgeschneiderte Live-Show Visuals für seine Auftritte zu erschaffen.
Das Trio begann danach ein Mini-Album mit dem Titel „Little Prayers 1-8“ in ihrem eigenem Tonstudio im ländlichen Bedfordshire aufzunehmen. Für die zwei nachfolgenden Alben, „Songs without a Purpose“ und „More Love & Death“ , wuchs das Ensemble exponentiell und Johnny entdeckte eine andere Seite an seiner Fertigkeit als Komponist und Singer-Songwriter. Etliche geprüfte Manuskript Seiten wurden ins Studio gebracht um von dem Trio und einer Auswahl von klassischen Musikern gespielt zu werden. Sowohl von Film Soundtracks (man denke an Morricone, Nymann und Glass) als auch von Songwritern (Cohen, Cave und Waits) inspiriert, ergeben sich Spannbreiten auf den Alben vom melancholischen gedämpften Geflüster bis zu mitreißenden Final – Scene Grandeur.
Mit dem UK-Release von „More Love & Death“ im Mai 2009, ereignete sich auch die Geburtsstunde für das Johnny Parry Orchestra mit einem Konzert in der Union Chapel. Das Album „Fields and Birds and Things“ (int. Release und Europa - Tour: Mai 2013) ist der beste Beweis dafür, dass sich das Johnny Parry Chamber Orchestra immer wieder steigert und mit viel Leidenschaft und Ambition Musik macht.
2012 organisierte Johnny Parry einen 50köpfigen Chor, der zusammen mit dem Orchestra sein neues Orchester Stück „Concerto Magnificent: An Anthology of all Things“ performt – eine umfassende und einzigartige Lyrics – Collage, die von vielen Menschen zusammengestellt worden ist und 2013 aufgenommen wurde.
