Mama's Favorite | Single | 2021 |
Deborah will provide you a warm dynamic sound full of energy on the bass and soulful backing vocals, as if the sun is shining on your face on a warm summer day. Ludo will play the tight rhythm section on drums with delicately placed fills and skillful drumsolo's as if Bonham was his first cousin. Simon lays down a solid foundation with distorted and overdriven amps on the guitar that blends in perfectly with the bass, so that Jay can let his solo guitar and voice float on the current of rock n roll.
You can expect to be taken on a trip with flared jeans, chrome car bumbers and the sound of a noisy radio playing your favorite nostalgic tunes while we're driving on route 66 towards the sunset on a hot summer evening.
ABOUT JAY MARTEN
Jay Marten is a talented singer / songwriter and performer who makes vintage rock with a modern twist together with his band called “Jay Marten & The Early Birds”. Inspired by bands such as Steppenwolf, The Doobie Brothers and Led Zeppelin, Jay Marten writes and records songs in his home studio.
From a young age, Jay Marten has been much more interested in 1970s music than that of most of his peers. The music of, among others, Queen, David Bowie, ELO, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy and Rory Galagher already aroused the feeling of nostalgia in Jay Marten, while in reality he has no real memories of this time. The longing for a past that Jay Marten himself never lived he shows in his warm and dynamic sound that sounds as if it came straight from an old vinyl found in a thrift shop. In most of his songs Jay Marten describes that he would have loved to grow up during this time and wanted to discover his favorite musical acts for the first time in the prime of their career.
Inspired by perfomances of the famous summer of '69, the band always aims to be very interactive with the crowd They always try to make people dance and feel euphoric in any way possible. Going to a Jay Marten & The Early Birds concert makes you feel like you went back in time, as if if you were watching the band on woodstock back in the day. The message Jay Marten wants to share is spread the love, be kind and to feel happy anytime you can.
Together with his group of refined and skillfull musicians they're going to make a lot of nostalgic memories while traveling the world making music.
