Indigo Bones are an unfathomable unit of musicians with very little care for their own wellbeing. Their high energy, raucous live shows are garnering them quite the reputation with fans, as they begin touring the UK promoting their debut single – ‘Go Juice’.
Soundcheck over, and Indigo Bones’ frontman Chris Welburn is bouncing around the backroom, singing Son House songs and wielding a 2 year old guitar that looks closer to 20. If there’s one thing you can say about this alt rock 4 piece, it’s that this is a band that clearly enjoys playing their music. Bursting into their set with their debut single ‘Go Juice’ – a raucous, riff fuelled, ignition-switch of a song, Indigo Bones start as they mean to go on, bounding across the stage with more urgency than most bank robberies, playing their distinct style of rock music – described as sounding like Pearl Jam, driving a white van off a cliff into a pile of Foo Fighters records.
Indigo Bones formed in Hull when Chris staggered drunkenly into bassist Mark Swan at Humber Street Sesh Festival. After recovering, then spending some time plotting and swapping stories of underground gigs in back room bars, they linked up with Marty Hoyle and Adam Davison, set out to record their debut single ‘Go Juice’, and play a slew of shows across the UK.
