Avantgarde band from Russia, HAPPY55 play their own original music in instrumental trio - piano(acoustic, synths), clarinet and drums - with no any stylistic limitation.The comparisons that pop up in the Russian press dip in and out of these many potential comparisons: "Happy55 are a 'mystery-group' or 'surprise-ensemble,' perhaps.
Some critics sense a leaning towards a club style in their work; others notice Glass's minimalism and influences of Schtockhausen, Prokofiev and Ives. But no one can say, that their music is similar to someone else. The band took part in many famous festivals in Russia,Ukraine and Italy such as Usadba Jazz 2008 (won special prize in category Avantgarde), JazzBez 2009 (Ukraine), Muzenergo 07, 09, 10, 13, VesnaHaus (Italy)
