Rock auf der Burg 2022

Reviving a festival like "Rock auf der Burg" requires a committed and highly motivated organizing committee. Thus, at the beginning of 2005, the Jugendhaus Rock AG was founded, whose members were rock enthusiasts and full of drive and wanted to put on a larger music event. It consisted of representatives of the ev. Martin Luther community Falkenstein, the Kolping youth Mammolshain, the catholic youth Schneidhain, the music group Rockmeister, the youth house AG and the youth care of the city Königstein.

With the concept of rock on the castle all were also fast united: To offer talented young musicians from the region the chance to present their ability to a larger public, was the original idea, which is again converted this year. In 2007, the Rock AG was entered in the register of associations under the name "Rock Arbeitsgemeinschaft" (Rock Working Group), and as an association it is intended to hold further events in the future together with the Stadtjugendpflege Königstein. For example, there is already an annual benefit concert in cooperation with, among others, the Mammolshainer Kolpingjugend or the Freundeskreis Asyl Königstein and a cover battle, and since 2006 again an annual young talent competition (which is organized since 2012 under the name "Battle of the Bands").

So there is a lot of work ahead for the young association, but thanks to the organizations from which it emerged and which still support it, it can rely on a large number of volunteers who will again contribute to a great success of Rock auf der Burg this year.
