http://gabrielleducomble.com Press Kit: http://gabrielleducomble.com/epk - Bio Now a firm favourite in her adopted UK, talented vocalist Gabrielle Ducomble brings a special blend of Gallic charm and sophistication to the British jazz scene.

Technically gifted and artistically at home in styles ranging from contemporary jazz to French popular song, this vocalist who, in 2003, reached the final of French “Pop Idol” and then studied jazz at the Guildhall, is now performing with her own quintet, major London big bands and top orchestras in addition to touring, television and radio appearances.

Singing in English and her native French, Gabrielle performs Parisian-style jazz and tango – her own original material, plus iconic songs by the likes of Piaf, Brel, Gainsbourg and Piazzolla with a contemporary spin. Her band includes some of Europe’s finest musicians in an authentic line-up featuring guitar, accordion and violin, providing the perfect anchor for her superlative vocals.

Gabrielle's latest tour promoting album 'Notes from Paris', which in February 2014 had a sell-out launch at London’s Pizza Express Jazz Club and was Jazz FM’s “Album of the Week”. Featuring her modern jazz arrangements of songs such as “Je ne regrette rien” and “Sous le ciel de Paris”, and acclaimed musicians Nicolas Meier and Gilad Atzmon, Notes from Paris has been called “Polished, classy and refined … such a strong statement”. When she sang on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends presenter Emma Freud praised Gabrielle’s “astonishingly beautiful voice”, and she received rave reviews for her 2015 show ‘The Music of Michel Legrand’, Sebastian Scotney of London Jazz News saying: “Wow … just wow”.

Gabrielle has performed at top London venues, from intimate jazz clubs to concert halls. She sang with the Aurora Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall - Southbank Centre as part of 2013’s The Rest Is Noise festival, at Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Albert Hall, Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho and Hideaway. In 2014 she starred at the St James Theatre as part of its Jazz Diva series and guested at Georgia Mancio’s ReVoice festival. In November 2015 Gabrielle will appear at the EFG London Jazz Festival.

She has completed two UK tours, gathering fans in jazz clubs from Wakefield to St Ives, and received warm praise for her performances at Lichfield, Marlborough and Porthcawl Jazz Festivals. Further afield, she has performed in Italy with the notable accordionist Vincenzo Castrini, and at the Savanna Jazz Club in San Francisco. Next year she plans to tour her native Belgium with the Michel Legrand project.

She first came to fame when she reached the final of the French Pop Idol in 2003. Along with the other finalists, she signed to BMG Sony France and the resulting album went double gold. Gabrielle appears on ‘Ca Balance pas mal’ compilation 2006 and she also had the privilege to work with the pop star Lara Fabian on her international tour “Un Regard Neuf”. She moved to London in 2007 and graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

In 2011, Gabrielle’s well-acclaimed debut jazz album 'J’ai Deux Amours' was released on MGP Records. It featured her own arrangements of American and French jazz standards in collaboration with international jazz musicians, including Chris Garrick and Nicolas Meier, who continues to be her major musical partner.
