Based in London, Lindner chronicles the late nights and early mornings gone astray in the city’s underbelly, and sets them alight onstage with a new age blues, colliding unruly guitar tones with warped synths and big band jazz on steroids.
2019 was a big year for Flood for the Famine gaining support from BBC Introducing, Huffington Post and Amazing Radio, along with numerous indie blogs: in fact the Waiting to Happen EP was trending on Hypemachine.
As a five piece-band they played to 3000 people from the main stage of the sold out Leestock festival as part of their festival tour. Their sellout live shows across London’s nightclubs gained notoriety for their wild fevered energy, and the momentum continued as they adapted their live show for churches, rooftops and festivals across the UK.
Lindner’s arresting stage presence along with his ability to turn tragic stories into moments of euphoria has earned him comparisons to Nick Cave and Tom Waits. With a string of releases planned for early 2020, Flood for the Famine is set to take the year by storm.
