Their unique cross-pollination of doom, psych, punk, garage, spoken word and indie, has given them multi-genre appeal, exemplified by gig supports for highly acclaimed acts such as Bo Ningen, Large Plants, Acid Mothers Temple, The Vaselines and The Bevis Frond.

Hailing from Glasgow, Dragged Up are an off-kilter psych-garage proto-punk band with a spoken word element, founded in late 2018 by Eva Gnatiuk (Violent Butlins, Las Mitras) with Simon Shaw (Youth of America, Trembling Bells) and writer Lisa Jones. Chas Lalli (Vom) and Stephen Mors (The Owsley Sunshine) joined in 2019 & 2022 respectively. In 2025, Estefanía Badilla Mora from Pretty Creatures (U.K) and formerly CANVAS (Costa Rica), replaced Lalli and Jones on bass and backing vocals.

Their 2020 debut album, 'D/U' garnered notable reviews: "Like classic CBGBs proto-punk transplanted to rain-drenched Scottish streets" - Louder Than War. "An all-seeing, culture-cannibalizing slacker classic" - Record Collector. Reaching no.15 in Reverb is for Lovers' Best Albums 2020, Postcards from the Underground Best EPs 2020 & Album of the Week in Kool Strings.

The 'Hex Domestic' EP, released by Cruel Nature Records in September 2023, with a video premiere on Echoes and Dust. It received critical acclaim from numerous music magazines both online (inc. New Noise, Bliss Aquamarine, Luminous Dash, Fear and Loathing, Monolith Cocktail, Heavy Metal Kids, The Organ, Reverb is for Lovers) and in print (The Wire, Snack Mag Scotland, Dirge Mag). It received no.5 in Sun 13's EPs of 2024, Cruel Nature's 'Release of the Year' (based on Bandcamp plays) and Dirge Mag's Top EP of 2023.

"like The Fall circa 83, jangling guitars nearly in tune, merged with Sonic Youth. It’s slackedrist, it’s proto-grunge, it’s indie with edge" - Christopher Nosnibor, Aural Aggravation

"Their sound continues to explore echoes of the Anorak/ C86 scene, mixing slacker girl group vibes with garage pop essentials. And Dragged Up are experts at the form." - Byron Coley, The Wire magazine

"The tightest kind of loose, this five piece incorporate shades of 90s US alternative rock into their post-C86 jangle and throb, a band working in perfect harmony amid a very imperfect world" - Fran Carlyon, Heavymetalkids

Their second album High On Ripple was released in April 2024 to high acclaim with a two further UK tours throughout 2024:

‘Psych, garage, proto-punk, C86, indie are just some of the various genres I've used to describe the off-kilter lo-fi sound of Glasgow's Dragged Up but in truth their sound straddles all of those and none seem to really catch their sound. The varied elements brought by each member results in something unique, refreshing and thrilling. I've been blown away by this. High On Ripple proves Dragged Up are really one of the more exciting groups around.’
- Compulsion Online, April 2024

They are currently working on new material with an EU/UK tour planned for June 2025.
