The Classic Rock Magazine describes Dogma’s music as: “Aggressive riffs, ethnic vibes and psychedelic soundscapes all wrapped up with stunning delicate female vocals”.

Dogma is one of the most unique and popular bands of the Armenian rock music, founded in 2008 in Yerevan by guitarist Heno Grigoryan and bassist Vardan Grigoryan, members of the already disbanded legendary in Transcaucasia MDP band (Manic Depressive Psychosis, 1994-2007) .

Dogma's music is a unique combination of ethnic-folk musical thinking, heavy instrumental accompaniment of metal and unexpected solutions of progressive rock, capable of enfolding the audience and transferring the listener through a powerful mountainous landscape to a serene apricot garden in the blazing sun.

Current band members are – Vardan Grigoryan, bassist, band producer, President of the Armenian Rock Association, Heno Grigoryan, guitarist and composer, Zara Gevorgyan, vocalist and lyricist, Gor Avetisyan, drummer.
The band has released three albums: “Ethnic-Methnic” 2008, “Under Dogma” 2013 and “Na Ne” 2016.

In 2023 Dogma marked its 15th year of activity, during which the group has given numerous performances throughout the territory of Armenia, and has been a pioneer in the organization of a number of large musical events held in Armenia. Among them the Yerevan concerts of Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, John McLaughlin and Ian Anderson should be singled out for their importance.

During his September 24, 2010 Yerevan concert, Ian Anderson performed two Jethro Tull songs and two Dogma songs with Dogma vocalist Zara Gevorgyan. In Ian Anderson’s words Dogma is: "The best musical metal band this side of Mars. Amazing bass player. Brilliant vocals. Searing guitar. Thundering neutron drums. This band features instruments which are weapons of mass destruction.... Oh, to be so young."

Dogma has had international festival appearances and played concerts in Germany, Poland, Georgia.

Dogma was featured in British “Classic Rock”, Danish “Metalized”, Italian “Rockerilla” Magazines, Brazilian “Progressive Rock and Progressive Metal”, Japan “Rock Drive”, Italian “Femme Metal Webzine”, American “No Clean Singing” and other online publications .

After taking a recess due to Covid19 and mainly the devastating war in Armenia in 2020 escalating to this day, Dogma is on the ride again planning tours and recording of its 4th album!

“It doesn’t matter how much or how little you know about Armenia, there is one thing that you can add to the list if you have not already done so: a band called Dogma! […] I’d say Dogma’s music is more like a slow acting but highly addictive drug that you just can’t get enough of”.
[…]There is no mistaking Dogma’s music for anything else, and unless another band comes along that successfully combines Armenian folk music with intricate and powerful Progressive Metal with a 70s edge, it is likely to stay that way.
Femme Metal Webzine / Italy

“They are a very melodic balance of yin and yang, the fierce sound of the music punctuated by peaceful overtures and interludes, while the power and sensitivity of the vocals blend with the varied pace and rhythms of the guitars like water follows the terrain of a mountain valley, while never actually becoming the mountain itself”.
