DIRTY GRANNY TALES “DIDI'S SON” Dirty Granny Tales are an acoustic music band that use a mix of puppetry, dance and animation projection to bring their dark stories to life.

Dirty Granny Tales are a melange of Tim Burton’s gothic storytelling, Tiger Lillies’ irony, Diamanda Galas’ presence, The Residents’ sterile imagery and Manos Chatzidakis’dream-like melodies. The band first formed in 2006, and since then has staged three shows in Greece. They have sold out the largest theatres in Athens and have presented their work in many festivals throughout Europe. The audiences positive reaction was the motive behind the band’s move to Berlin, a first step in an effort to bring their work to wider audiences world-wide.
Didi’s Son takes place in an inverse world, where puppets come to life and human are themselves the puppets. The fairytale’s leading lady Didi, is a puppet of amazing beauty created by the Storyteller. He eventually falls in love with her, the dream woman he himself conjured up, thus creating a role for himself in his own fairy tale. They love brings an offspring to the inverse world, but, which of world does this child really belong to?
