DeStijl and mancunian mate John Cleary. they released a self-titled first album in 1997, and then took different ways, John moving to NYC in 2000.
After a 10-years break, P. DeStijl reformed a band and released the concept album “The White Stripes” in 2011. This album is available in three versions, including acoustic reinterpretations of the 11 songs and 12 dancefloor-calibrated remixes.
In 2012, the band recorded a new album in Manchester with former “Chameleons UK” and “I am Kloot” guitarist Yves Altana as producer. This album features Peter Hook (Joy Division & New Order) on bass and Julie Gordon (Happy Mondays) on backing vocals.
Last winter, the band returned in manchester to record the follow-up album, which is due to be released in november. This time they invited Monica Ward (New Southern Electrikk), Louise Turner (Elbow) and Julie Gordon on backing vocals and Jennie Vee (Courtney Love) on bass.
The mixing of the album is on its way in LA, by Danny Saber, who worked with Rolling Stones, Madonna, David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Seal, Korn, Black Grape or Public Enemy.
DeStijl is now starting an european tour to promote this new album; because it’s on stage that their hypnotic universe is also revealed as a furious rock dance machine.
