A classically trained musician, CHINOOK began writing her own songs in 2012 while performing professionally in Germany. CHINOOK grew up in the prairies of Alberta, a child of two Filipino immigrants, and was subsequently named by children on a First Nations reserve where her father taught school. Thus, her songs echo the spirit of the prairies: its calm, vastness, and wild simplicity.
