This soulful approach is also what captured the interest of judges and viewers during the second seasons of The Voice SA, where she ended in the Top 4 of the competition. Her debut-album, EINDELOSE LIEFDE, has been released and promises to conquer the hearts and ears of music lovers across the country.

Her first single EK BID VIR JOU, written by well-known lyricists Roux Cloete and Neil Schoombee, tells the story of two people who love each other, but are kept apart by circumstances beyond their control. Caroline-Grace’s soulful rendition of the pain and longing the couple experiences, is extremely moving, and becomes the prayer that carries them through this painful situation. Her unique voice perfectly complements the chillingly beautiful lyrics and catchy melody of this contemporary single and will remain in your head, long after you’ve heard it for the first time. “I chose the song, because I was able to relate to it. When I heard it for the first time, I had not seen my husband for ten weeks. It is very difficult to be apart for so long and to find balance between our careers. He plays rugby in Japan and it is impossible for us to be together all the time. Prayer, like in the song, is also what keeps our relationship strong,” the artist explains. “I think South Africa is going to fall in love with the lyrics, melody and beautiful vocals of this single. The song is authentic and honest and Caroline-Grace’s warm voice is able to reach the high notes effortlessly. She is elegant and hardworking and I believe that she is destined to become our country’s ‘Queen of Hearts’,” says songwriter, Roux Cloete, who shares that long-distance relationships were the inspiration behind this hit. “This song portrays that intense and desperate feeling of longing that cannot be explained. In these moments of longing, a prayer for your loved one is the only thing that makes it more bearable. You also hope that the favour is returned,” he says. Caroline-Grace believes that audiences will be able to relate to the theme of the song. “You constantly think about the
person that you love and sometimes, without noticing, you are praying for that person and hoping that he or she is okay,” she says.

The artist, who grew up in Bloemfontein, has been singing and dancing since she was just a little girl. She believes that her diverse taste in music comes from her parents, who listened to everything from Led Zeppelin to Leonard Cohen and The Beach Boys. “My dad used to play guitar for us and we always sang along,” she remembers. Although she is an introvert, she decided to take drama lessons when she was in high school. A lead role in the musical, Oklahoma, in her matric year, officially launched her career in the entertainment industry. Soon afterwards, she also won the Volksblad Spontaan singing competition, followed by various other talent shows and concerts, including Oprah Winfrey’s Graduation, Jy is my Liefling, Beauty and the Beast, and many more. Over the past thirteen years, she has also shared the stage with big names like ADAM, Jak de Priester, Jannie Moolman, Valiant Swart and Jannie du Toit. Being a contestant on The Voice SA 2017 and landing a record deal with Universal Music are listed as some of the highlights of her career. “It opened more doors for my career than I could have ever imagined and gave me a solid platform to work from. I am now fully able to live and share my passion,” she says. She would love to work with talented singers like Karen Zoid, Riana Nel, Corlea Botha, Nadine and Leah someday. “These artists are in a league of their own. I would most definitely be able to learn a lot from them. To work with experienced musicians, who know the industry, is invaluable and inspires you to be a better vocalist,” she shares. Adele, Celine Dion, Roxette, Katy Perry, Whitney Houston, Lara Fabian and Sinead O’Connor are credited as some of her greatest musical influences.

Caroline-Grace is also an LLB graduate, but prefers a more creative career. She enjoys painting faces, because she believes that the eyes reveal a lot about the soul. The artist is currently working on her debut album, but cannot reveal too much about it at this stage. “The Music Industry is what you make of it. If you are not willing to work hard, you will not achieve anything. Hard work, dedication and treating others with respect are very important,” the singer says.

Because Caroline-Grace draws her own inspiration from heartfelt music, she also wants her own songs to convey a similar message. The soulful approach and delivery of her first single, is not only going to cause a stir in the South African Music Industry, but is also the start of a very successful career for this beautiful entertainer.
