About Czech Music Crossroads
Czech Music Crossroads is an international showcase festival connecting artists from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and beyond with music professionals, promoters, and journalists. Each year, carefully selected bands representing local roots, acoustic music, folk, fusion, and jazz are presented to an international audience. This year, alongside the traditional partner countries, Taiwan will be the guest country at the festival. The 2025 edition of Czech Music Crossroads will take place in Ostrava and is set to attract more than 40 foreign-based music professionals.
The Showcase
The showcase at Czech Music Crossroads is an essential platform for not only emerging artists. We are looking for Czech bands from the genres of local roots, acoustic music, folk, fusion, and jazz to apply. Performances will be 30 minutes long and take place in front of an engaged audience of music professionals including festival directors, promoters, publicists, and more.
In addition, delegates will vote for the CMC Award, which grants the winning band a performance at the prestigious Colours of Ostrava festival the following year, with the award ceremony held there.
What We Offer
● Catering, accommodation, and travel expenses will be provided for the selected bands.
● No performance fee is paid to the bands.
● Exposure to an international crowd of around 40-50 music professionals.
● Opportunity to participate in speed meetings with important figures from the music business, providing one-on-one time with key industry players.
● A great opportunity to make new contacts and immerse yourself in both the Czech and global music scenes.
● A fantastic chance for booking opportunities and reaching new audiences.
● Increased media exposure through our communication campaign.
● Excellent networking opportunities during the official conference sessions as well as informal networking in the free time.
● CMC Award: The winning band will perform at Colours of Ostrava 2026, where they will receive their award.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted by 23 February 2025. To apply, please register here on the gigmit platform and submit your application for the Czech Music Crossroads 2025 showcase.
Important Notes:
● The festival and performances will take place from 19–21 June 2025 at Dům kultury Poklad in Ostrava.
● Selected artists must be available during the festival dates and attend networking events from 19–21 June 2025.
● A showcase performance is required with a set of approximately 30 minutes.
