Formed in Mogilev in 2008, Akute features ex-participants of the well-known punk rock band GLUCKI, singer/guitarist Stas Mytnik and bassist Roman Zhigarev. The band’s musical side formed under the influence of the likes of New Order, The Cure, Placebo, The Killers and Interpol, while the lyrics were inspired by works of Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Strugatski brothers and other sci-fi authors of the 20th century.

“Outer space is the biggest space known to humans, and even the earth is nothing but a speck of dust, compared with it,” says Roman Zhigarev, the band’s main songwriter. “I believe that if a person happens to be there, among the stars, he will unavoidably disclose his true self, showing whether he is courageous or a coward, a hero or a villain. In the outer space, there is no chance of survival for those who are not truthful to themselves.”

AKUTE’s first track, “Adzinoctva” (“Loneliness”), was recorded February 2009 and made the main Belarusian chart, “Tuzin Gitou” and stayed in top5 for seven months.

AKUTE’s collected “The best new band” award at the ULTRA MUSIC AWARDS 2009, the Grand-prix at "Vertifest 2010" (Kiev, Ukraine), the 1st prize at "Basowiszcza 2010" (Grodek, Poland) and played two special sets at "Be2gether 2010" (Norviliskes, Lithuania). AKUTE wrote the original soundtrack for the independent movie “Kanikuly” (“Vacation”), directed by Vladimir Kozlov.

Akute was chosen by Brian Molko to support Placebo gig in Minsk 22.09.2012
