Ájo Arkestra is an afrofuturistic multicultural group of musicians from the four corners of the world based in Dublin - Ireland.

The name ÁJO was derived from the nigerian language yoruba wich means journey in reference to the spiritual journey of self discovery that occurs throughout life and the name ARKESTRA means that the ARK is the vehicle of the ORCHESTRA this name was taken from one of their references the trancendental Sun Ra Arkestra. The group is a derivation of the formerly known as Dublin Afrobeat Ensemble, where these people have spent the last three years playing their originals songs in many places in Ireland. These artists met in an organic conection of Afrobeat enthusiasts and started meeting up regularly at down-town jam sessions in a cosmopolitan Dublin. Big music festivals like Body in Soul, Forbidden Fruit, Electric Picnic, The Silk Road Film Festival, Life Festival, Mela Festival Belfast, Castlepalooza, Cork Jazz Festival and many spots as Sugar Club where they have residence in Dublin, Button Factory, Grand Social, Black Box in Belfast and The Pavillion in Cork to metion a few where has felt the impact of their energetic infectious grooves.
