Zord began playing shows around their home town, Miskolc for the same reason the bands that they knew and listened – it was pure metal. Since the bands’ inception, Zord made a name for themselves by performing overwhelming and razor-sharp shows around Hungary and Transylvania. The band’s tour resume consists of some of the most influential and well known bands in the Hungarian metal music underground. Bands like Remorse, Akela, Wisdom and others have shared the stage with Zord and it was only a matter of time before the band began to be approached by record labels. After signing with Nail Records, the band entered the studio and recorded the undeniably unique “Disasters Grind” a debut album reviewer of Heather Harvest magazine (USA) describes “…This is definitely one of the most talented thrash acts out there still today.” Consisting of eleven songs, besides the fan favorite “The Ghost” and “Sweet Noise”, “Disasters Grind” is an album full of tension and power.
“After being a four piece for eight years we added one new member,” recalls Deni. “Krisz, a long time friend, became our vocalist and we immediately started writing songs for the next album.” In the coming period the band is gaining momentum and impetus; appear both on festival and club stages. In 2013 the band’s second album, Thorns & Wounds is unleashed and acclaim from the metal underground, and even international rock and metal radio stations and magazines started to take some notice. The release receives incredible reviews from the media who hail the album “…This is really a hidden thrash metal diamond!!!” (Rock Overdose, Greece); “Thorns & Wounds’ sounds like the set-list of a cool concert” (Lords of Metal, The Netherlands); “…I’ll warn you now, if you heard this on the radio, you’ll be bouncing off the walls to it. ALL HAIL ZORD!!!! (Vendetta Metal Magazine, Finland). The band hit the road again to play fleapits and every hellhole available. “There is no better way for building up a committed fan base…” explains bassist Lipi, who joined the band just a month before Zord started the studio works of their next release…
2018 was a busy year for Zord, with several gigs and work in the studio on their third full-length of Zord entitled Peripheria that was released on 9th November, 2018. With an album of head crushing, brand new material and a burgeoning fan base, Zord are eager to dig deep in the seething metal scene; so 2020 is shaping up to be another great year for the band…
