Based in Barnsley and gigging in the Yorkshire area. Younger Bones was formed in early 2015 as Black China Dolls by Alex Walker (Vocals), Scott Mallin (Guitar/Vocals), Liam Gilroy (Drums) and James Clinton (Bass). Influenced by bands such as Alkaline Trio, Brand New and Alexisonfire, the band set out to bring a heavier yet still melodic side to the local music scene in Barnsley. Reminiscent yet unfamiliar to the local bands that each member enjoyed listening to and seeing in the scene's renaissance in the mid-2000s
2015 saw the bands live debut in a series of venues throughout Barnsley and Sheffield with great reception from the crowds. That summer, the band recorded and released their first EP online along with a pair of music videos. For the rest of the year, Black China Dolls focused their efforts on finding a lead guitarist. It wasn't long until Liam Swann filled that position and brought a whole other dimension to the band's songs. Past and present.
With a strong first year under the Younger Bones belt. The 5-piece are looking to make 2016 better in every way possible. Entering the studio in March, the band has finished recording the new EP - REPTILES, featuring the first songs written since the inclusion of Swann, which are the heaviest, catchiest and most energetic yet.
