She creates soulful pop music, sprinkled with influences from jazz, classical and electronic. For Vanda the stage felt like a safe space early on. Her new set depicts a story of taking up space and reclaiming one’s own life after surviving trauma. It premiered in London 2022 as part of 'Dreamy Evolution', especially arranged for a 14-piece band at the Albany, Deptford. Vanda Essay plays live with her bands from London and Berlin. A large-scale, charity-based touring format is planned for mid 2023 to promote her upcoming album 'Supposed to be Mine' (late 2023).
