So that’s exactly what German producer and DJ Markus Teders did. Under the Ton Don moniker, he’s spent the last 4 years working himself up, to make the swift transition from new kid on the block to one of Germany’s most promising talents in electronic dance music. Not too long now, until the global dance floors sway to his sounds. It’s time to listen to what Ton Don has to bring.
There is no box in the mind of this rising talent – you’ll find electro stabs, RnB injections and house flavors hit you as soon as one of Ton Don’s originals kick in. The first marks he left on his path to success, were some heavily supported bootlegs and edits, hammered by the likes of Oliver Heldens, DBN, DJ’s From Mars, Juicy M, Dabruck & Klein, David Puentez and more. In 2013, it was time for the crowds to dance to his original sounds – ‘Decius’ on Tokabeatz. A few months later, it’s the playful and techno-seasoned ‘Bash’, released on Housesession, that kicks into the Top 20 of Beatport’s Electro House Releases chart. From that point on, both the German labels and global audience have their ears fixed at the Ton Don studio, resulting in another Top 50 position for his latest single ‘E.X.P.L.O.R.E.’ ft. Merlin. 2015 brings even more goodies to the playing field, with upcoming releases ‘Shakedown’ (with Nick Morena), ‘Pump’, ‘Spin It Back’ (with Cosmo Klein & Mark Bale) and ‘Rock On’ (with Jan Vega). And yes, Ton Don only just got started.
Besides spending his time in the studio, Ton Don also loves to meet his listeners and play out. Only three years after buying his first DJ gear, he earned himself a monthly radio show spot at one of Europe’s most popular online radio stations, Housetime.FM, and in the year after he became one of the six most promising newcomers by winning the biggest German DJ contest – representing East-Germany. Playing all around the country, from Dresden and Oldenburg to Dohren, Steinfurt, Bielefeld and Dörpen, it was only a matter of time until the brand new ‘Update’ club in Meppen invited him for an ongoing residency. With his productions, bootlegs and mixes gaining more and more international following – it’s only a matter of time until Ton Don crosses the German border – and meets the world. You’d best be ready.
