The Springtime Anchorage Short Info

Upon listening to The Springtime Anchorage, it’s apparent these four young men are traditionalists in every sense. From the birth of their songs, to the moment they record or perform, their only interest is in the honest delivery of honest music.
To pin them down to a specific genre isn’t easy; their music is drawn from the bareness of early folk and blues recordings, to the completeness of 50s and 60s American music a la Gold Star Studios. Further to that they add guitar licks that wouldn’t be out of place in a Grateful Dead live show, musical subtleties that one could easily imagine being born in the basement of Big Pink, and Simon & Garfunkel-esque harmonic melody. Perhaps most important, though, is the harmony of all these elements which they use to convey their songs without an over reliance on mass effects.
In short, they are that rare breed who have songs to make their sound, rather than sounds to make their songs.
They released their debut album 'Labour of Patience' in 2014.

"The Springtime Anchorage...smashing it out of the park!" - Dermot O'Leary, BBC Radio 2 - 12th Oct 2013

"The Songs are immaculately and carefully formulated to ensure each lick hits with the most power. They work fantastically together to build arching crescendos and climaxes that hit home with untold force, and their individual skills shine equally brightly" - Bido Lito! Magazine - March 2014

"Everyone should hear The Springtime Anchorage – they relocate that west coast jangle to the west coast of this isle. It’s The Byrds without the sun..." - Alan Fairnie - Listening Is Not Enough Blog - January 2014
