The music is ambitious and forward-thinking, and focuses on the sort of massive melodies, coupled with stadium sized riffs, that can only see them playing smaller venues for so long.
Featuring ex-members of Octane OK (Kerrang! Best British Newcomer Nominee) and Magpies and Vagabonds, experience has told them it’s time to redefine what a contemporary band should be. Not to focus on what’s ‘cool’ or current but writing genuinely immersive music that will have you humming it for weeks afterwards. The New Blacks aren’t like every other band and it becomes immediately apparent from the second you hear them.
Debut track ‘Happy On Your Own’ is available to view privately on YouTube (the band are currently actively talking with labels) with accompanying video shot by Sitcom Soldiers (Sleeping With Sirens, A Day To Remember). They’ll be playing shows up and down the country over the months to come and with an album’s worth of material in the can, expect new music and tour announcements very soon.
