A band with a difference - young, quirky and energetic with a 60’s vibe, an incredible live performance and superb vocal harmonies to match.

Originating from Stafford / Wolverhampton, the four lads who are aged 16 - 19 years old, first met a few years ago and started performing together in musical youth theatre groups across the West Midlands, recent credits have included the shows Les Miserables, Oliver, Hairspray, Miss Saigon, Our House and many more.

It was during these early years that their common interest in music was born, particularly when they became aware that they shared the same source of musical inspiration – The Beatles. The Icon formed in 2015 following a musical theatre concert in which they played a medley of songs from the 50’s and 60’s featuring their idols The Beatles and also The Rolling Stones.

Since that time, the band has been enjoying playing a variety of gigs across the region at pubs, clubs, festivals, charity events and parties and also at the end of last season, a performance at Anfield for ‘Liverpool Match Day Live Music’. Whilst playing a variety of music from a range of artists from the last 50 years, their music has always included a core of songs from that bygone era and is founded on harmonies with a rocky performance to match.

The band are continuing with writing their own material (songs which are very much based on the 50’s / 60’s genre) and last year released 3 singles. They have performed these live on local radio in the Midlands and on BBC Radio Merseyside, to promote their appearances in the International Beatles Week Festival and more recently their progression to the final of the 2017 UK Soundwaves band competition where they were performed at the Birmingham O2 in June.

The band are also grateful for the opportunity presented by the Royal Bank of Scotland and are thankful to have had their music played in the banking halls at RBS and Nat West throughout the UK and are also delighted to have been awarded 'Band of the Quarter' at RBS.

Having secured some festivals again for this year inc a festival in Belgium, the band are looking to play at more festivals in 2018 and also get back into the studio to record / release some more of their originals.
