Sus Dungo is an extraordinary marvel in Latvian independent music, called the "Latvian indie pop fairies" and "musical visions", consisting of 6 young ladies, showcasing a wide range of musical instruments, including the accordion , flute and bright vocals, often performed by all band members, and an unforgettable stage presence. Sus Dungo is the fresh breeze of youth, sincere freedom and improvisational spirit, lighting up the stage and the hearts of the audience with their genuine performance and original music. Basically it started in 2009 with four girls – Diana, Kate (vocal, violin), Anneli (drums, vocal) and her sister Marika (bassguitar, vocal). The sound was clear and simple, but the performances began with a special intro for each concert making it a tradition till now. Girls brought feeling of nature in the places they were playing and often mixed poetry, dance and music all together making everybody feel that they are free and they’ re keeping this freedom on the stage as well. Little bit later they met Elizabete (vocal, flute, metalophone), Liene (vocal, accordion), Marta (electric guitar) .June 2012 Sus Dungo self-released their first studio record, minialbum "Rasā pēdas" ("Feet in Dew" - Engl.) that has already been well received amongst Latvian music critics and the audience as well and awarded as best debut 2012 in Latvia. Since November 2013 we are working on a new album, which will be out on autumn 2014.
The name “Sus Dungo” also came naturally – the “Sus” actually is a name of Diana’s first guitar (and her nickname afterwards), but “Dungo” means “humming” in Latvian. Diana:“I’ve always been impressed by this kind of a sound expression which goes through all the body. It is heard under water and it is often a sign of somebody being happy or releasing mind free enough. ” So, after all - “Sus Dungo” is a “Humming Guitar”.
