Press Text
Sun Spot’s brand of off-kilter pop dwells somewhere between pulses of dark electronica and 90’s indie, with ethereal pop melodies and interruptions of synthesised glitching woven throughout.

Having collectively spent time playing in Brighton and Southampton DIY bands before finding themselves as members of Bristol’s thriving indie scene, Sun Spot’s understanding of pop music is rooted in experimentation - drawing from post-punk, bedroom pop, indie rock, electronica and more.

In September 2021, the project released their EP ‘Clipping’ on Rosecoloured Records - reaffirming their love for genre-bending experimental pop with an offering saturated with bombastic, sampled drums, waves of synthesised ambience and interjections of corrupted, effects-laiden melody harking back to the titans of early 2000’s sample culture.

New EP ‘Clipping’ available now on Rosecoloured Records:

FFO: Beach house, Porches, From Indian Lakes

“Drenched in electronica sensibilities and new wave influences, SUN SPOT makes their grand return with ‘Clipping 02’ that swims in experimentation and reverbs.” - Pictor Magazine

“Sophisticated production that could slot in perfectly on a record from The 1975.”

“Bedroom pop with some bite to it…”
