“Dutch widescreen rockers Stillwave conjure an intimate intensity that’s all their own.” ----- Q Magazine “This is really very good” ----- Drunken Werewolf “Brooding and intense […] a delicate interplay between layers of reverb, electronics and vocals to create something really special” ----- Wonderland Magazine “Their reverb heavy shoegaze style, coupled with resonating drums, electronics and synthesizers making for a winning combination” ----- Little Indie Blogs “I think you’d be hard pressed to find this interesting and delightful take on pop music anywhere else” ----- Austin Town Hall “A sound that could fill a stadium, but is also deeply intimate” ----- Obscure Sound “You can label Stillwave however you see fit – but one thing you can’t do is deny how good they sound.” ----- Backseat Mafia Stillwave is an alternative / shoegaze three-piece.

Based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The band
consists of Michaël van Putten, Marcel Jongejan and Joris Keijzer. Stillwave creates an innovative mix of guitars drenched in reverb, characteristic vocals and powerful drums, combined with electronics and synthesizers. With their live shows, they create a unique experience where the band and audience share in their experience of letting go of so many things that do not matter in order to grab a hold of the few things that do.

Stillwave has caught the attention of numerous blogs and radio stations worldwide (Q magazine, Wonderland Magazine, 1883 Magazine, Nothing But Hope and Passion, Drunken Werewolf, Austin Town Hall, Little Indie Blogs and many more). With the 2 EPs they have released thus far Stillwave has played over 100 shows with multiple tours in the UK and The Netherlands. Their live shows have garnered rave reviews by various media outlets such as Backseat Mafia (UK) and 3voor12 (NL). Stillwave has supported acts such as 65daysofstatic & Hallo Venray, and are set to host the after party of The Cure’s Ziggo Dome show this November.

Stillwave has just finished the recording of their debut album which will be released in April 2017. At the start of 2017 the promotion will begin in earnest with multiple tours across the European continent. The band is looking to work together with various independent labels for the promotion and distribution in Europe. The release will be available digitally as well as physically (LP and CD).

With their critically acclaimed live shows and releases their debut album looks set to propel the status of Stillwave as one of the breakthrough acts of 2017.
