Simone Jackson Clark was born in New York and moved to Italy in the early nineties.

She began her career as a singer-songwriter in 1993 with the single “Love is the key”, with the recording company DWA Records, Simone Jay owned by Roberto Zanetti (Savage) the illustrious Italian singer, music producer, composer and businessman from Massa, Italy. He brought us a list of smash hits, “The Rhythm of the Night” by Corona being just one of many! “Love is the Key” is one of the first euro house tracks to come out of that studio. It went on to top the charts in Germany. In the following years she would lend her voice to and collaborate on a variety of dance music projects in diverse studios, Time Records being one of those great studios! One key collaboration would be with the awesome Italian DJ/Producers, the Group Netzwerk - Marco Galeotti, Maurizio Tognarelli, (Gianni Bini, & Fulvio Perniola (Fathers of Sound). Netzwerk brought us the two international hit singles “Passion” and “Memories” in 1994/95. In October 2012, DWA Records released a new version of the song “Memories” created by Alexandra Damiani containing the original vocal sample, the song was published as “Alexandra Damiani feat. Netzwerk — Memories (Alexandra Damiani Original Mix)”. 1994 brought us the single “Take Away the Colour”. Ice Mc & Simona Jackson (rap by Ice Mc and lyrics by Simone), teamed up to drop this single which met with great success on the radio and dance floor. Ice MC is the wonderfully talented British rapper best known for being the first to produce songs of that unforgettable euro dance style of mixing raggamuffin style rap with a female chorus. In the mid-nineties, Simone, who at the time was working with the solid indie label Luv-encolors Records, headed up by the powerful Singer-Songwriter/Musician/Producer, Emanuela Gubinelli aka Taleesa (“Let Me Be”, “Because the Night”), and Fashion- Model/Rapper/Songwriter Michael Corkran, was signed to Virgin Records (Virgin Music Italy). Luv-en-colors and Virgin would then launch the Simone Jay Project. This project would go on to bring us the super-hit “Wanna B Like A Man” co-written with Taleesa, which topped the charts in Europe and South America in 1997. “Wanna B Like A Man” was remixed by the distinguished Swedish DJ and record producer Stonebridge. StoneBridge is internationally renowned for the remix of the 1993 hit “Show Me Love” with Robin S. The Stonebridge version of “Wanna Be Like A Man” would occupy position # 11 in the ranking of best-selling singles of that year on the European market. According to Billboard Magazine, it would chart at number # 27 on the Hot Dance Music / Maxi-Singles Sales Charts. The hit singles to follow in 1998 were “Midnight” & “Luv Thang” which Simone co-wrote with Taleesa. Much-sought after Mario Fargetta the Italian house/electronic DJ, producer, recording artist, composer, and remixer (best known for his involvement with the group The Tamperer featuring Maya), dropped a seriously funky remix of “Luv Thang” that hit the dance scene hard. In 1998, in addition to the summer hit "Luv Thang”, Simone collaborated with well-known DJ / producer D.J. Dado(X-files) and the two would heat up the dancefloor in the Fall, bringing us the smash pop-dance track “Ready or Not”. 4 x Grammy Nominee DJ/Producer Steve “Silk” Hurley dropped his HOT “Silk Anthem of Life"remix of “Ready or Not" which kept everybody moving!
This track would stay in the Top-Ten position on the Euro charts for several weeks. DJ Dado and Simone would team up again for the dance track “Good Times Baby" Payday vs Simone Jay. The CD cover of “Good Times Baby" was used as the prototype in the Lee Jeans “Killah Babe” product campaign in Milan, Italy. The single “Paradise” would be her next hit in 1999. Eiffel 65 the Italian musical group consisting of Jeffrey Jey, Maurizio Lobina and Gabry Ponte who brought us the world hits, “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” and “Move Your Body”, mixed a heart-thumping radio edit version of Simone's single “Paradise” and their remixed version of it was licensed in several european countries. In 2000 Simone collaborated with the composer, arranger and record producer Roberto Ferrante of Planet Records an Italian independent label founded in 1998 in the south of Italy, to bring us “Give Me Love, Love” The 2-step remix of this single charted on London’s hit dance chart. Her collaboration with Indie labels would continue into 2001 when Simone teamed up with the producer (responsible for her appearance on the Italian Dance scene in 1993) Daniele Soriani and Fabio Lenzi of Lemon Studios to produce the house track “Falling In Love”. It was met with great response on the italian dance floors. 2003 brought us another collaboration with Lemon Studios “Mum & Daddy” an ambitious track that would mix house with swing. The studio got the ok from the Benny Goodman crew to sample that famous Goodman clarinet vibe! The Lemon Studios team also produced house tracks with Simone entitled “Green n Purple” and “Hot, Black, & Strong” (Simone's humorous ode to coffee:). 2008 would bring many new musical adventures for Simone. After working extensively between two studios in Tuscany, Italy and Los Angeles, CA, Simone and Italian producer, songwriter, and Fine Art photographer Marco Carmassi, produced a Pop/Jazz album entitled “The Way” under the name of SiJay. Steve Tavaglione the legendary woodwind and EWI musician who has worked with some of the best; George Benson, Sly & The Family Stone, Steve Winwood and numerous others, would lend his exquisite soulful sax sounds to the SiJay project. The album would also feature the legendary works of: American fusion/urban jazz composer, arranger, producer and guitarist, Paul Jackson Jr known for his incredible collaborations ranging from Michael Jackson (on the albums Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory and Blood on the Dance Floor; to the Temptations; Whitney Houston; Alexander O'Neal; Patti LaBelle and Luis Miguel. He also lent his to rock legends such as Chicago,Elton John; Jazz-oriented musicians such as George Duke, George Benson, Dave Koz, Al Jarreau and David Benoit. Legendary American drummer Vincent(Vinnie) Colaiuta who has worked as a session musician in many studios, laid down some serious tracks on the SiJay album that took the project to another level. Vinnie was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1996, and the Classic Drummer Hall of Fame in 2014! Simone took a long hiatus from the music scene to accomplish some very important things in her personal life that are very near and dear to her. She just dropped a new track entitled “Never Givin' Up (Finale)”. This project was produced by none other than Simone Jackson Clark and the Award-Winning Scholar/TV & Radio Director/Producer Clarence M. Wigfall MPH! This long-awaited project that was years in the making has now marked the beginning of a new era in music for Simone. In 2020 Netzwerk and Simone’s paths would cross again and from this the single “Just Another Dream” would see the light of day! This project was born with the intent to pay homage to the 90s Eurodance. Simone, Clarence and the illustrious Taleesa are currently teaming up with Netzwerk again to finish the year 2020 out with a bang and this time the multi-talented Singer-Songwriter Sandy Chambers (the original singer of Netzwerk) will reunite with Netzwerk.
