Satoria was formed in London in 2016 when Simon O’Keeffe met with Oswaldo Santos and Ecem Uzgor.

After a year of searching and collaborating with other musicians they found what they were looking, when they met and played with Bora Bekiroglu and Rudy Levis.

The concept behind Satoria is inspired by Simon’s long time study of Buddhism, Yoga, Chi Gung and Chinese martial arts. The origin of the name comes from the Japanese Zen term Satori which means to awaken and discover one's true nature.
He had a vision of a place called Satoria, a utopia where humans transcend labels of race, class and background to find oneness. A place where we embrace our differences, all the while knowing that at the core, we are the same.

Satoria combines the influences of Rock, progressive, Jazz, Folk and world music influences from Africa, the Caribbean and Turkey.
